SONYA GOMEZ
Real Estate Broker
Sonya was born and raised in Bronx, NY and moved to Miami in 1983. Immersing herself into the unique Miami culture, at the early age of 13 she knew this is where she wanted to be. After graduating from Miami Sunset S.H.S. early jobs included a retail management position and then transitioned to the more popular Service Industry so she can further her education. In 1992 (after Hurricane Andrew) she moved to Broward County, as many did and studied at Florida Atlantic University earning her Bachelors degree in International Business and a minor in Accounting. During this time she was recruited by Joseph Lehman as an Executive Assistant for Lehman Advertising and eventually headed all the Lehman ventures as Director of Operations and Controller.
In 2003 she expanded her business experience by obtaining her Real Estate license with a focus on Real Estate Investments and Rental Properties. As the Real Estate market transformed in South Florida, so did the Lehman business models. As the company gravitated to acquiring distressed properties, Sonya went on to get her brokers license to gain a better understanding of Florida Real Estate Law and Practices and developed the foundation of Freddy Barnett, LLC and Live Cheap, LLC.
